Everything you need to know about MergeReel.

MergeReel requires minimal permissions: read access to pull requests (to fetch the diff), write access to checks (to post status), and write access to issues/comments (to post the video link). We never access your full repository contents or any other data.
No. We only temporarily process the diff content during video rendering. After the video is generated, we only store the rendered video file and some metadata (PR number, file names, stats). Your actual code is never persisted in our systems.
Most videos render in 30-60 seconds, depending on the size of the PR. Large PRs with many files may take up to 2 minutes. You'll see a 'pending' check run in your PR while rendering is in progress.
Yes! You can configure redaction rules to exclude specific files, directories, or patterns from videos. Common sensitive paths like .env, credentials, and terraform state files are excluded by default.
Yes, on Team plans and above. You can use our API endpoint to manually trigger a render for any PR, or re-render after making changes. This is useful for testing or when you want to regenerate a video after fixing issues.
